Considerations when weaning the baby

As soon as the baby is born, it absorbs its mother as a reflex, but this reflex will cause the mother not to perceive her as a separate person after a while and to see herself as an extension. It develops a sense of attachment between mother and baby during breastfeeding. During breastfeeding, the baby feels at peace and safety. After a while, the baby identifies the mother with her breast.

It is recommended to switch to breast-milk only for the first 6 months and then to additional food, and it is recommended that our babies be breastfed until the age of 2. Breastfeeding is associated with the arrival and formation of breast milk. Each breastfeeding is suitable for the next feeding and produces a lot of milk. In contrast, breastfeeding produces less milk. This is based on the command the brain receives from the breast. When you switch to additional foods, less milk will come as the baby will be breastfed less. Switching to additional food will remove the baby step by step without sucking. Switching to solid foods will further away the baby from breast milk. Normally, if you start to cut your breastmilk from the breast gradually, ie by skipping one meal a day, there will be a smooth transition for both your baby and you.

There is actually the right age to cut without breastfeeding. It should ensure that it takes as long as possible, which should not exceed 2 years. Bottle-fed children stop sucking sooner, but spoon-feeding is more appropriate as the palate structures are disrupted.

In order to cut from the nozzle, the suction period should be gradually reduced starting from the 12th month. Because at this age, attempts to individualize, turn towards the environment, and become independent by walking begin to leave the mother. Supporting these behaviors is important for the development of the child, otherwise it leads to the formation of dependent children. It is also more important for the mother to feel ready and stable before starting all these nipple release procedures.
Once the decision is made that the baby should be cut off from the breast, it should not be expected to be accepted by the baby with understanding because it will not understand the prohibition of the initially forced breast that can be reached at any time until it is ever wanted, it will get angry, ragged, cry, and will stubbornly come against you. In this case, it is necessary to do the cutting from the breast in a planned and gradual manner. When cutting from the nozzle, note the following:

- Initially skip sucking once a day, instead of pre-existing breastmilk, water, juice or formula.
- Decrease breastfeeding time (breast-feeding time) and then give additional food if still hungry
- If you are intermittent breastfeeding, postpone breastfeeding, then tell you to breastfeed
- Do not be with the baby during breastfeeding hours, let him or her stay with someone he knows or loves.
- If you are 1 year old, make some restrictions, only at home, only in this room, like this sofa.
- It is very difficult to cut from night sucking. Leave it to the end, try not to lie with you during this time, avoid sensual contact

If the baby does not stop sucking, various problems may arise. If the baby is still sucking the mother after 2 years of age, it is not only because of the mother's inability to give up her breast, but also because of her mother's inability to leave her breast, as well as behavior problems such as difficulty in establishing social relations, inwardness, inability to socialize, and inability to develop self-esteem. Professional help may be needed to release the breast.

Sucking the nipple affects the baby's teeth. Increases the risk of caries. The presence of milk residues in the mouth when sleeping at night causes bruises, if possible, children who drink milk at night need to wipe their teeth with the help of a cloth.
Infants who are breastfed may lose appetite as their interest in other supplements will be reduced.
He may not be able to acquire and discover other skills to comfort himself. Children look for things to relax themselves when they feel bad, new toys, new things they can do, but the child, who can turn to the mother's breast every time they feel bad, is surprised what to do when her mother is not with her. He won't know what to do.
